IBA Mubarak Ali Case Centre

Launch of IBA Mubarak Ali Case Center: Transforming Business Education in Bangladesh.

The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) at Dhaka University, the premier business school in Bangladesh, has proudly launched the IBA-Mubarak Ali Case Center (IBA-MACC). This center, a joint initiative of the Mubarak Ali Foundation and the Institute, aims to highlight Bangladeshi business cases for teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students locally and globally.

The IBA-MACC is set to transform business education in Bangladesh by incorporating contextualized, real-world Bangladeshi cases into the curriculum, aligning more closely with global educational standards. This initiative aims to prepare future leaders with a profound understanding of global business concepts and environments through localized challenges.

IBA has collaborated with Harvard Business School Publishing (HBSP) and the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) to develop a framework that supports the creation and dissemination of case studies focused on Bangladeshi businesses. As part of this effort, IBA is committed to developing 24 teaching cases that concentrate on Bangladeshi companies and address local business issues.

In this journey, IIMB will facilitate IBA’s efforts and contribute to capacity building. Despite Bangladesh’s remarkable progress and achievements in the private sector over the past few decades, these success stories have not been widely documented as teaching cases. Recognizing this gap, IBA is dedicated to capturing and sharing these valuable insights, thereby enriching the global business education landscape with Bangladeshi perspectives.

Throughout this pursuit, the Mubarak Ali Foundation, committed to empowering through education, inspiring through art, and innovating through architecture, will provide IBA with comprehensive financial and logistical support, as well as valuable networking opportunities.
